Minutes

This meeting focused on planning a hackathon scheduled for November 23-24 in Bern, Switzerland, hosted by Swisscom.

Morgan led the discussion reviewing 16 proposed topics and explained the selection process, which will involve a 50-50 vote between community members and the organization committee, with the main criterion being the capability to involve multiple companies.

The participants presented various technical proposals including AI root cause analysis using MCP servers, AI gentle skills for telco use cases, moving from YAML to NetConf actions, GitOps Time Machine for deployment feedback, token rotation tools, secure GitOps enablers, Keptn for enhanced GitOps framework, OCI-based cloud automation, flux troubleshooting tools, supply chain promotion pipelines, configuration validators, and Harbor operators.

Several vendors including Ericsson or Nokia expressed interest in participating, with specific focus on topics like SDC.io, NetConf actions, and CNF lifecycle management.

The discussion concluded with plans to finalize topic selection by mid-to-late August to allow time for team building and preparation before registration opens.

Next Steps

  • Morgan: Create a voting form for topic selection by mid/end of next week, including community and organization committee votes.
  • Morgan: Finalize and communicate the selected topics by the end of August, to start team building and logistics.
  • Morgan: Correct the title of the token rotation tool proposal page.
  • August-Wilhelm: Detail the Keptn use case proposal further in the document and send a direct email to Joel for clarification and discussion.
  • Michal and August-Wilhelm: Plan a dedicated follow-up to clarify the precise use case for the Keptn proposal for the hackathon.
  • Morgan: Discuss with Julie the process for registration, as she prefers to have the topics selected first.
