Introduction to Nephio
S.Arora and C.Johnston gave an introduction to Nephio community.
The detailed the architecture, the CRDs and the different releases. Porch code is now fully integrated in Nephio project. Nephio through its CRD offers an abstraction to manage the CNF (NFDeployment, NFConfig). They use config-sync as GitOps engine (until R3 at least). The community is still young, 8 people are referenced as developers on Nephio Github.
How to get real infrastructure needs for CNF
A.Garrote shared DT feedback on the way they manage CNF prerequisites on their infrastructure. The reported concerned are shared with the other Telcos on the bridge. The documentation quality provided by the vendor is very variable. Low level information are often missing (Bios, Kernel,..) A guideline on CNF vendor minnimum information coudl be produced in the WG06.
Another interesting feedback is that vendor claim that some requests are really specific justifying the fact that it is not done. Several Telcos got the same answer, it i thus no so specific. Guidelines shall be created on these topics to be shared with vendors next time.
Rules
It was agreed to start working on Guidelines
- Creation as a Merge Request in WG06 Gitlab repository
